As the name, Couples at Crossroads, implies, we are always at a choice point. Each moment brings with it an opportunity for growth--an opportunity to experience life more deeply and more fully. Most of time the choice is to recognize the value of a relationship and determine to put new energy into it. Sometimes, the choice is to recognize that a relationship is reaching its conclusion and steps need to be taken to allow forward movement without it. These choices are usually very subtle. We don’t even notice we’re making them. Occasionally the choice comes vividly and demands action. Whatever the case, being aware that choices are made all the time offers the opportunity to actually participate in a relationship and not just stand back and watch it happen.

Navigating the Deep Waters of Successful Marriage
Beyond the daily difficulties of marriage lie the truths that make those difficulties so persistent and so destructive. Discover those truths.
The shadow is very important in marriage, and we can make or break a relationship depending on how conscious we are of this. We forget that in falling in love we must also come to terms with what we find annoying and distasteful--even downright intolerable--in the other and also in ourselves. Yet, it is precisely this confrontation that leads to our greatest growth.
