Get Started on a Great Marriage

So You're Getting Married...!

What could be more important?

Starting a life together.  Making a commitment to each other.  What could be more important than being well  prepared for this step?  There's a huge difference between preparing for a wedding and preparing for a marriage.  Getting engaged is a wonderful thing!  For most couples it marks the beginning of some serious planning...planning for the wedding.  It can be a monumental endeavor costing, on average, about $26,000.  And, it can be worth every penny spent.

That's the wedding.  What about preparing for the marriage?  We know the wedding is worth a lot of time and money.  So...doesn't your marriage also deserve an investment?

There's a huge difference between preparing for a wedding and preparing for a marriage.

Here are two exciting opportunities to go beyond the wedding and prepare for a great marriage.

Getting Clear Package:  4 Sessions

Getting Clear Package $480.00

Starting a life together is best done when you have a pretty good idea what might be ahead and how it might affect you as you endeavor to deepen your relationship.  When planning a trip, it's common to look at maps, check out the destination and gather information that will maximize the likelihood of a successful experience.

The Getting Clear Package is designed to gather information that will make things a little more predictable and therefore more likely to result in a smooth and happy relationship.

Session One: Know Yourselves

Getting to know each other deeply is important.
Using several well-established questionnaires and evaluation tools, we will go over the strengths and a weaknesses each of you brings to your marriage.  This will provide important information about who you are as individuals and prepare you to get to know yourself more deeply and get to know your partner as an individual more deeply.
Empathy is a critical skill in developing and maintaining a good relationship. Session One will give you some basic information that can make empathy stronger and more available.

Session Two: Know Your Style

Effective communication is a skill. Learn it! Use it! Benefit from it!
We all have a relationship "style" ...a way of relating that we return to as our home base.  This is where we feel most competent and most safe.  It's where we go instinctually particularly when we feel stressed.

Getting to know each other's style goes a long way toward resolving conflict and deepening your knowledge and awareness of each
other.

Session Three: Know Your Resources

Picture
Some say that in every relationship there are risks and opportunities.  Session Three will focus on strengths and opportunities.  Being aware of your strengths is like knowing where the fire extinguisher is when you think there's a fire.

Knowing your strengths offers a "go to" place when you're stressed.

Session Four: Know Your Triggers

There is no Superman or Wonder Woman.  We all have points of vulnerability...buttons that can be pushed.

Knowing what triggers you to experience hard-to-manage emotions makes resolving conflicts and finding points of growth much easier.

Session Five:  Reconciling the past

Picture
We all bring "baggage" from the past into our current relationships.  This baggage typically creates a template for how we behave in the present.  When events from the past are not resolved or reconciled they can have a particularly strong effect on the present.

Session Five focuses on tools that will help to identify and resolve the past.

Session Six: Creating a Future
